User Interface Design

As a frequent user of Kijiji, I quickly noticed the site’s lack of visual refinement and usability. Its interface felt cluttered, outdated, and inconsistent — leaving plenty of room for improvement. Out of pure passion for design and curiosity, I decided to refresh Kijiji’s interface as a personal creative exercise.

My redesign focused on highlighting the platform’s local character — one of its strongest differentiators — by making nearby listings and community connections more visible and engaging. I restructured the layout to emphasize content relevance, removed non-essential elements that created noise, and refined the visual hierarchy to bring focus to what truly matters: the user’s search experience and the brand’s identity.

The result is a cleaner, friendlier, and more modern interpretation of Kijiji’s platform — one that respects its purpose as a local marketplace while improving legibility, ease of use, and emotional connection with its users.
