Kaws
Digital Art – Photoshop
This digital artwork reinterprets a sculpture of Astro Boy by the artist Kaws. I modified the piece by adjusting its colours, adding tattoos, and integrating a collage of cultural and commercial imagery — including figures like Steve Jobs, Marilyn Monroe, and Einstein, as well as logos from iconic global brands such as Coca-Cola.
The work was printed on a 30 x 60-inch canvas, serving as the first phase of an evolving mixed-media project. In its upcoming stage, I plan to enhance the piece with graffiti, paint splatters, and layered textures — merging digital precision with the spontaneity and imperfection of physical expression.
The project examines the intersection of pop culture, consumerism, and identity — a recurring theme in contemporary art — through a lens that both celebrates and critiques the visual language of mass influence.
