Heineken

Product Photography

This project focused on capturing studio photographs of Heineken beer bottles. Typically, in this type of product photography, a curved reflector is placed behind the bottle to follow its shape and bounce light through the glass, giving the product volume and clarity.

For this particular setup, however, I decided to experiment with a less conventional approach. Each bottle was placed on a custom cardboard panel featuring circular cutouts matching the exact diameter of the bottle bases. The entire setup rested on a glass surface, with the lighting positioned underneath.

This bottom-lighting technique created unique internal reflections within the glass, giving the bottles a striking, luminous quality rarely achieved through traditional methods.

Additionally, the droplets visible on the bottles’ surface were made from a 50/50 mixture of glycerin and water. This blend provided better adhesion and stability than real condensation, allowing precise control over the size, shape, and placement of each droplet for a more polished and consistent look.
